This is a video called "A Surprise Party for Timmy" using toys. We used this and other videos of the same nature in our preschool and elementary chapels. They work great to teach lessons and kids love them. . . And if you can't create something like this on your own then, well, you're not trying.
The Calvary Baptist Church School Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic was taken in the spring of 2007. It is an excellent way to integrate the whole school experience into one trip just before graduation. There are missions, use of a foreign language, experiencing another country and culture, accounting (raising and spending money properly for the trip), and much more. I hope you enjoy the video.
In Cambodia there is place where all the trash from one of the larger cities is dumped. Whole families live off the refuse that is dumped there. However, there is an organization that is trying to do something about it. They teach the children and provide healthcare among other things. The same organization that works with these "garbage dump children" also operate two orphanages where chidren are taken care of an educated. This organization is affliated with the church I attend and it is legitimate. The video is a real eye opener.
I include this video because students need to be trained to have a heart for missions just a adults in church do. I have always found that students become more understanding and selfless when they are exposed to the plight of others.
